Great presentation. I will focus more on PMS.  You talked a little about the WOW factor.

What is your thoughts on the Virtual Office concept? Can one create a WOW experience in a small shop 1-man shop / Virtual Office model? if so How would one go about it?

Or do you need a staff, office, to make the WOW impression. Is there something in between each extreme?

What is your thoughts on the virtual office concept?

I think this can be a great idea for the newer rep, or the rep who can't afford a staff.  There are a lot of things that a VO can do to create a wow experience for the new prospect/client.  Here are a few things:  They can call the day before and get a drink order--find out what the prospects like to drink.  You may still have to go to the grocery store, but it saves you a call. At the same time they can do some cheerleading of you--you are going to love working with Katherine! All of her clients think she is great. Did you know she was on the CFP board of ethics? (etc, etc)  I would also have the VO create the welcome sign and email/mail it to you so you can post it in a frame. Afterwards you can have the VO send out the meeting notes and can prep your handwritten thank you notes.

Another thing they could do is after they become clients, call and do a client satisfaction survey or check in with them to make sure they can read their statements. VO's should also be in charge of making sure you have a full calendar of new prospects.  They can be calling prospects and setting up appointments.  I would also use them to place trades and handle service work.

It is definitely easier with your own office.  You can control the space.  However, one of my all time favorite financial advisors (who unfortunately succumbed to an early death) did a great wow experience in her home. She had the clients sungle up in a nice chair--she fed them tea and cookies and spent an hour or two just learning about the client's background.  It was incredibly effective because it felt like meeting at a friend's house and getting pampered.  Hope this gives you some good ideas.
